About Us

MV Consulting

MV Consulting is Elena Fa’amoe-Timoteo and Filemoni Timoteo.

We are both children of first generation migrant parents to the USA and New Zealand respectively. As such we have a natural cynicism with how the business of consulting can be more about the consultant than about the people.

People are at the centre of what we do. Advice, strategy, concepts and solutions that are designed; are developed with the clients and where they want to go, we help mould the context and ask those questions that need to be asked but sometimes are not. Empathy is our strong suit.

Collectively we have more than 50 years of experience working in the public and private sectors. This includes working in central government and local government roles in management, policy and implementation.

We have maintained connections and involvement in community and community driven initiatives over the last twenty plus years.

Our vision

Serving and making a difference alongside communities in which we live and work, across New Zealand and around the world.

Our mission

To successfully demonstrate that high quality advice in an ethical and culturally aware environment is achievable through trust and strong relationships.

Our values

We are people centred and our work is founded in our core values as people.

  • Integrity
  • Honesty
  • High trust
  • High Quality of Service Provision

Our logo is a stylised Frigate Bird.

The frigate bird is an easily recognisable image in cultures across the Pacific and around the world; a frigate is considered a sign of good fortune, as seafarers knew that land was nearby when they saw one.

Our brand

For us, the frigate is synonymous with the following traits that we see as the strengths and skills we bring on the journey with you:

  • Visionary, insofar as we look far and deep
  • Adaptability in managing changing and varying climates and environments
  • Navigation or wayfinding and knowing where we are at all times
  • Maneuverability in being able to pivot or change on the fly and at speed
  • Ability to communicate and intuitively understand context and content
  • Protectiveness of our relationships
  • Strength of purpose

An interesting fact about the frigate bird is that it catches its fish in the air, demonstrating its flying prowess, agility and fearlessness. Studies have shown that they can stay aloft for up to two months at a time when hunting for food. This adeptness and tenacity to do things that others don’t is appealing to us and the way we look at how we work with and help others.

Our services

We are keen to journey with you and your organization to assist with:

  • Designing organizational solutions
  • Designing concepts
  • Carrying out process analysis, programme/policy evaluations and reviews
  • Designing strategy
  • Governance and management training
  • Developing operational effectiveness
  • Developing human resource

Give us a call, we’ll put the kettle on!
